My name is Amie Hicks and I have always been a very creative and dare I say odd individual. I never felt like I fit in with the general public. I was most comfortable and happy with other creative people while dressing up, creating works of visual and auditory art, playing with video and photography, just to name a few.

 

Over the years my style and expression has grown and developed. As kids my mom would take my 3 brothers and I to music festivals where I learned to embrace exploration, experimentation without fear of failing and art of many forms. When I was 18 I started going to music festivals again as an adult and fell in love with the freedom of exploration and expression all over again!

 

I have developed an intense love of color and wild choices. First in clothing, makeup, home decor and led lights! Over the years that has influenced my art expression on paper (and canvas).

 

I discovered fluid painting and acrylic pouring and fell in love. It is the embodiment of my creativity. Crafting color and allowing for freedom of creation. I also learned that my natural eye and skills I’ve developed through web and graphic design lend itself wonderfully to this amazing painting style. I love playing with color, using my knowledge of color theory and composition to create beautiful works of art for people to enjoy in their homes and offices. I often push the boundaries of using bright colors and contrast since they make me happy. I want to share that with others.
